Introduction to Cyanotype Workshop
A gentle introduction to the beautiful, centuries-old art of cyanotype printing.
Description
A gentle introduction to the beautiful, centuries-old art of cyanotype printing. We'll explore the history of this sun-powered photographic process before moving into a step-by-step demonstration of traditional cyanotype printing. You'll then have plenty of time to experiment with a selection of dried and fresh flowers and leaves (feel free to bring your own botanicals too!). By the end of the session, you'll go home with your own collection of handmade cyanotype prints. You'll also receive a FREE cafe style drink to enjoy while you create! About Bluebelle Arts Catherine is the artist behind Bluebelle Arts, a Bristol-born cyanotype and botanical printmaking practice rooted in wellness, and a deep connection to nature. After nearly two decades living overseas - including a decade in California - Catherine returned home to Bristol. Working with foraged and home-grown botanicals, alongside photography and found objects, Catherine creates one-off sun-printed pieces, often finished with delicate touches of gold leaf. Her work is as much about the process as the finished print - encouraging a slower pace, a closer look at the everyday plants around us, and a moment of calm in the making. You can find more of her work on Instagram @bluebelle_arts. **To Bring: An apron to protect your clothes Anything you'd like to have a go at printing - fresh or dried flowers and leaves work well
